this apartment complex, located across the street from texas state university, serves not only as housing but as a learning institute that teaches students of all ages about the future of manufacturing and fabrication. the ground floor is equipped with a magnitude of 3d printers, cnc machines and work stations for assembly of projects. the goal is for members of the community to be able to come to the building and put in orders for specially made products such as car part replacements, custom signs or decorations, anything that can be fabricated.

the complex is a mass timber construction that has chunks taken out of it to serve as outdoor garden terraces where residents can have a more tranquil study experience. This way, designers using machines of the future can still be connected to nature without leaving the comfort of home.
